Stamp Something Color Challenge

My entry for the Stamp Something blog challenge to use the colors pink, green, and blue. Pretty simple and self explanatory. :) I used all scraps (except for the card base) to complete this card. The rhinestone was even recycled from a store-bought card that I received from somebody. :) The DSP is the now retired Celery Prints Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The card base is Bashful Blue, the stem and leaves are Wild Wasabi textured cardstock (also retired), and the stamp is from a Sale-A-Bration set that is also retired. I used Pixie Pink ink to stamp the flower. The sentiment is from the SU! set Curvy Verses. Thanks for looking! :)

Stamp Something--Triple Play Challenge

I finally got time to post something for the Stamp Something blog. The challenge this week is a "Triple Play" and we were to use three layers, three colors, and three embellishments. Hopefully this fits with the challenge...there is a tiny bit of turquoise in my embellishments and that would make it four colors. My three layers are the Bashful Blue card base, the Pumpkin Pie strip, and the Old Olive panel. I stamped the flower from the Hostess Set Cause for Celebration on Whisper White, cut it out, and added the turquoise button, Designer Series Paper (retired), and the Old Olive Polytwill ribbon "leaves." Pretty straightforward. I like the way it turned out! :) Thanks for looking!

Challenge cards

I made the Father's Day card last night in preparation for my Stamp Camp next week and I made the "nurse" card last week for my BIL's girlfriend, who just graduated from nursing school. I signed on to SCS today and their Limited Supply Challenge was to use alphabet stamps for the sentiment--how funny is that? All supplies SU! Thanks for looking!

A two-fer!

Well, I was able to get one card made today that accomplished two things! First, I participated in the first challenge on the new blog Stamp Something! Go check it out for yourself and stamp something. I love challenges. This challenge allowed me to make a Criss-Cross Card for the first time, which is something that I have always wanted to do, but never sat down to attempt because it always seemed a little bit more involved than I usually like. It was fun and surprisingly easy, though, since the tutorial had all of the cutting and scoring measurements right there. :) Finally, this challenge provided me with the opportunity to make my second Mother's Day card, this one for my Mom. Hope she likes it! Thanks for looking everyone. :)

Supplies: Cardstock--Bazzill Basics and Stampin' Up!, Patterned paper--Stampin' Up! (retired), Scallop pink border--Bazzill Basics Just the Edge Cardstock Strips, "Silk" Flower--Doodlebug Designs, Scallop circle punch, tab punch, flower punch, and circle punches--Stampin' Up!, Stamps and ink--Stampin' Up!, Olive Poly Twill Ribbon--Stampin' Up!, Buttons--extra from one of my DD's outfits

Gotta Love a Challenge!

I took a break from typing tonight and made a card for Kristina Werner's color inspiration challenge that she is featuring on her blog: http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog

The colors she found were inspired by a Pottery Barn ad and translated into Stampin' Up! colors equate to the following: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Close to Cocoa

My entry, above, is comprised of all Stampin' Up! supplies. I used the All Scallops and Lovely Labels sets (love them both!) as well as some of our chipboard, which I painted with a Bashful Blue re-inker, sprinkled with Iridescent Ice embossing powder, and heat embossed with my heat tool. I had the Iridescent Ice powder already out for another project and, as it pretty much gets glitter EVERYWHERE, I decided to use it again before I put it back in the jar. :) I used the Boho Blossoms punch for the embellishment and cut the large flower in half to flank the chipboard. I adhered the flower halves with silver brads. Certainly Celery Designer Series paper completes the look. I think it turned out cute and I love this color combo--thanks Kristina!

Thanks for looking everyone! :)

Limited Supply Challenge--Happy with this! :)

Here's my challenge entry for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS. We were supposed to use one sheet of Designer Series Paper, 3-4 stamps, and the same colors of cardstock and create 2-4 cards using the same stamps, papers, and cardstock. We could use any embellishments and/or tools that we wanted to. I chose to use my "So Sweet" stamp from this year's SAB stamp set called So Many Scallops as well as a small flower stamp from Short & Sweet. I used Celery Prints Designer Series paper, Old Olive cardstock, and Barely Banana cardstock. The embellishments I chose were korker ribbon (see several posts below for explanation on korker ribbon), the scallop punch, and miscellaneous buttons, eyelets, etc. I was pretty darn happy with how these turned out! Thanks so much for looking! :)

Today's Limited Supply Challenge Entries

I whipped up these two cards for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS. The theme of this challenge is "Quick Minis." We had to make a card that is smaller than 4.25x4.25, use only paper scraps for layers, use some quick tools, and embellish.

I actually made the pink card the other day with some scraps that were lying on my table, so this was perfect for this challenge! I did the other baby card today, using my new set from the Occasions Mini as well as the scraps from my "Baby Bubbles" page that I made the other day. I am pretty happy with how the star card came out...not entirely thrilled with the pink card, but oh well. All supplies SU! on the pink card and everything but the patterned paper strip on the star card is also SU! Thanks for looking! :)

Color Challenge

I really think I can get into these challenges on SCS...they really spur your creativity! Today's color challenge was to use So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, and Purely Pomegranate. I also threw in a bit of black for the sentiment...hope that's allowed! VERY simple card using my new Lovely Labels set (which I bought mainly for the BABY stamp that is in there--I am going to use it for my sister Andi's baby shower invitations..so cute!). I also used my beloved Paisley background stamp and my new Boho Blossoms punch. The mat pack for the piercing and a single So Saffron brad rounds out the design. I popped up the sentiment and the flower on Stampin' Dimensionals to give it, what else, dimension! LOL! Thanks for looking! All supplies SU!

Limited Supply Challenge!

People on SCS post challenges every weekday and Friday is the Limited Supply Challenge. I decided to participate tonight after finishing my work. It's a lot harder than it looks! For this challenge, we were to use only ONE flower stamp and an optional sentiment. We could not use Designer Series paper or background stamps. After quite a while of fiddling with this card, I stumbled upon a couple of clever ideas (at least I thought so!) :) I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the flowers behind the main panel and I think they kind of look like scallops. Ignore the little boo-boo in the bottom left. It was my second to last scallop and I accidentally turned the stamp. Rats!

For the focal image, I stamped once and then used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to offset it and stamped again. The result is a fuller flower with a little more punch. Let me tell you, I find my Stamp-a-ma-jig indispensable!! If you are anal retentive like me, you need one too! :) All supplies are SU! I welcome any questions or comments (unless they are mean! LOL!) Thanks so much for looking!
